2022 Petit Verdot

New South Wales

A rich perfumed nose with aromas of blackberries and gentle soft spices
$42.00

Occasionally used as an alternative to Shiraz, this lesser-known old world variety has become a popular varietal in Australia.

Known for its dense colour, vibrant flavours and firm tannin structure, makes it a good choice for true red wine drinkers. With a robust palate of lilac and sage, with red currant undertones and a subtle spice. This wine has the unique ability to pair with a vast array of dishes - starters, mains and desserts.

Note: we've recently redesigned our labels, so you may receive a bottle with the previous design while we sell through existing stock. It's still the same great wine inside.

Tasting Notes

The 2022 vintage has a rich perfumed nose with aromas of blackberries and gentle soft spices, giving the wine complexity and intrigue. The palate contains big full berry and wild cherry flavours, these combine with big and balanced tannins creating a long luscious lingering taste sensation in your mouth.

This fruit was sourced from high altitude vineyards in Rylstone in cool climate basalt soils. This wine will age well and grips the palate while young.

Food Matching

Petit Verdot is a perfect match for similarly rich dishes such as hard cheeses, roast lamb and rich meat dishes. Have you tried it with Dark Chocolate?

Peak Drinking / Cellaring Potential

This wine will cellar well for many years with careful attention.
